Netflix’s abrupt change in strategy includes a new name for the company’s DVD-by-mail service — Qwikster. And unsurprisingly Qwikster.com already has a placeholder saying the new service is launching soon.

However, @Qwikster on Twitter was already taken by one Jason Castillo, whose tweets are probably very far from what Netflix’s PR department envisioned for its Twitter promotion.

Scientists say rocks from Greenland prove that precious metals, such as gold, were deposited in the Earth’s crust by asteroid showers billions of years ago.

The researchers from the University of Bristol in the UK say their experiments with material from Isua, southwest Greenland, provide evidence of a meteor bombardment some 3.9 billion years ago which laced the planet’s crust with tons of dead-star residues, forming gold, platinum, nickel and tungsten.

Man drowns 2 year old

MANILA, Philippines – A 2-year-old girl was drowned in a basin by her family’s houseboy in Pasig City on Wednesday.

The victim, Markiesha Magbanua, was choked and then drowned by Ariel Pangarungan in a basin filled with water inside the victim’s family’s house in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.

According to the victim’s mother Marivic, the family hired Pangarungan as their houseboy last December. Read More…
